Are you wondering why you need a Swiss importer? As Switzerland is not a member of the European Union, it has traditionally traded with its European neighbors under a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). However, this agreement has not been renewed since the adoption of the EU Medical Devices Regulation (2017/745), which now makes Switzerland a "third country" similar to the United Kingdom. Consequently, manufacturers located outside Switzerland must designate a Swiss regulatory importer and a Swiss authorized representative (CH-REP) .
